Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich could be set for a loan exit after the club agreed a fee for Middlesbrough star Adam Forshaw, according to a reliable journalist.

Phil Hay, the chief football writer at the Yorkshire Evening Post, claimed on Twitter on Wednesday evening that Klich may be set for a loan move abroad amid the imminent arrival of Forshaw.

Hay claims that there is interest from foreign clubs in Klich, who has failed to make an impact at Elland Road since his £1.5million move from FC Twente last summer.

The Poland international, 27, has made just 10 appearances for the Whites this season, with only five of those coming in the Championship.

As reported by Sky Sports, Leeds have agreed a fee in excess of £2million for 26-year-old Forshaw.

Good move for Leeds United?

Klich has not managed to play himself anywhere near the first team since his move from Twente six months or so ago, and a loan exit looks the best option for all involved.

The 27-year-old arrived with lofty expectations at Elland Road, having turned out 10 times for Poland, but his performances have left much to be desired.

It looked like he may be set for a chance to play after Eunan O’Kane was handed a three-match ban, but the arrival of Forshaw suggests not.

Perhaps he is just not cut out for the rigours of English football, and a move back abroad looks a good option.

Likely to happen?

As stated by Hay, it would be a surprise for a move to not materialise for Klich.

With interest from abroad showing already, an exit looks very much on the cards for the 27-year-old.

While there has been nothing concrete yet, there still remains two weeks or so left in the window, and something more definite should emerge in the coming days.
