Tottenham fans took to Twitter to lay into Moussa Sissoko for his performance in their 2-0 Premier League win against Brighton on Wednesday evening.
The France international, 28, was restored to the starting XI as manager Mauricio Pochettino made four changes to the side that demolished Stoke City 5-1 at the weekend.
With Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli dropped to the bench, Sissoko partnered Harry Winks in central midfield as Pochettino reverted to a 4-2-3-1 formation without the suspended Davinson Sanchez and the injured Toby Alderweireld.
Goals from Serge Aurier and Son Heung-Min secured the three points for the home side and lifted them to fourth in the Premier League table ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.
But Spurs fans were immensely frustrated with Sissoko, who has been a regular member of the team this season, and with Pochettino for his decision to start the player in midfield ahead of Dembele.
