Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has been named in the starting XI against Apoel Nicosia on Wednesday night – and Tottenham fans on Twitter believe it is his last opportunity to prove himself.

The 22-year-old attacker has been given his first start of the campaign for the Champions League match at home to Cypriot side Apoel.

Mauricio Pochettino has made eight changes to his team and given fringe players the chance to impress as his side are already into the Champions League knockout rounds as group winners.

N’Koudou has featured just four times off the bench this season across all competitions, but the winger has been given a lifeline by his manager for the midweek clash.

The Frenchman is renowned for having brilliant pace and great technical ability, but is yet to show that in a Spurs shirt since his arrival in 2016.

Spurs fans on social media believe it is last chance saloon for N’Koudou and are hopeful he seizes his opportunity against Apoel.

There is certainly an opportunity in the Spurs first team on a more regular basis if he can impress the manager on the European stage.

The wide man offers a more direct approach and genuine width to a team that are often criticised for playing too narrow, with their wing-backs relied upon to bomb forward.

He showed at his former club Marseille that he can be effective and proved to be a real goal threat from the right wing.

The speed demon scored 10 times and supplied five assists in 41 appearances for Marseille, but is still yet to really shine in English football and is waiting for his first goal.
