Rodel Richards starred for Tottenham on Tuesday in the FA Youth Cup – and the club’s supporter raved about their academy prospect on Twitter.

The 17-year-old centre-forward helped his side cruise to a 5-0 victory over Preston in the third round tie.

He managed to net a stunning hat-trick for Scott Parker’s Under-18s side, while Paris Maghoma and Phoenix Patterson were also on the scoresheet.

Richards is an English striker that is performing well for Spurs’ youth team and his performance in midweek alerted supporters to his quality.

Spurs fans on social media heaped tremendous praise on to their upcoming talent and are picking him out to be a future star.

One supporter went as far to say he is already better than senior forward Fernando Llorente, who has struggled this season to make a serious impact at the north London club.

Spurs talisman Harry Kane is a shining example that academy prospects can succeed under Mauricio Pochettino and supporter reckon Richards could be the next in line.

The Argentinian boss has help developed the likes of Kane, Harry Winks and Dele Alli in recent years, while their is a real willingness to promtote young English star.

Kazaiah Sterling and Marcus Edwards are the current Under-23 players at Spurs being tipped for greatness, but further down the age line is 17-year-old Richards.
