Rangers fans rave about Tavernier after Celtic clash

|

Rangers put in an impressive display in the 0-0 draw with Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Saturday, and fans have taken to Twitter to rave about the display of right-back James Tavernier.

Tavernier has been one of Gers’ most consistent performers this season, and he showed that once again in the Old Firm derby.

The 26-year-old full-back was the Light Blues’ best attacking outlet all game, with his deliveries into the box from the right flank causing several issues for the Celtic defence.

He created two clear cut chances for striker Alfredo Morelos, but the diminutive Colombian failed to convert on both occasions.

The first saw Tavernier find Morelos with a brilliantly whipped delivery across the six-yard box, but Craig Gordon produced a blinding save to deny Rangers.

The second was a similar ball in, finding Morelos at the near post, but he could not find the target with his header.

Despite his efforts the game ended 0-0, a result that Rangers probably would have taken before kick off.

The result leaves them still in third, and still 11 points behind their fierce rivals in the Scottish Premiership table.
