Tottenham have made the emphatic decision to end their interest in Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha, according to the Independent.

The newspaper claims that Spurs have moved on from the idea of signing the 25-year-old, who signed a new five-year contract at Selhurst Park in May.

It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have had a long-standing interest in the Ivory Coast international and that Manchester Cityare now interested in the attacker.

The report details that Palace have ruled out selling and cashing in on their talisman, who is considered to be the star man at the club.

Zaha has made a name for himself as a skilful winger and has benefited from playing a more central role this season.

He is thriving as a centre-forward this campaign by scoring four goals in 12 games so far and is regarded as one of the best talents in the Premier League outside the top six teams.

Good move for Spurs?

Spurs ending their interest in Zaha all together is a bad move and he is exactly the type of player that would thrive under Mauricio Pochettino.

The fleet-footed attacker has blistering pace and would be the perfect addition to the current squad at the north London club.

Zaha certainly has all the attributes to succeed in his game if he find consistency and has looked extremely good for Palace so far this season, with his form vital to them staying in the Premier League or not.

Likely to happen?

Spurs appear to have pulled out the race for Zaha meaning a deal seems improbable, despite many fans expecting him to join further down the line.

They do have Erik Lamela finally back from his long-term injury layout and it seems like the Palace wide man is no longer on their radar.
