Rose’s attacking play against Leicester started to show signs of the dynamism that marked him out as the best left-back in the Premier League before the knee injury in January that sidelined him for nine months. But his defending also showed something to be desired, and he was caught out for Leicester’s first-half goals. Ben Davies offers a more dependable if maybe less penetrative option, but is sure to return against Watford on Saturday. Pochettino tends to rotate his full-backs between midweek and weekend fixtures, and that is likely to be the case again.
