Tottenham are reportedly in the hunt to sign West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini – and the club’s supporters have welcomed the move on Twitter.
The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs are interested in landing the 24-year-old playmaker from Premier League strugglers West Ham, who are currently in the relegation zone of the table.
It is understood that Mauricio Pocehttino is a huge fan of the Argentinian and has been tracking him for the past two years.
The report details that he is on a £35,000-a-week deal with the Hammers and that his contract is set to expire in 2020.
Spurs fans on social media believe that Lanzini would be a good addition to their squad and some suggested that he could be a good alternative option to Christian Eriksen.

Id take Lanzini at Spurs but I doubt it will happen. There’s better options as well

Can't see us getting lanzini in January but if they go down maybe. Fellow countryman of Poch. Not a starter but adds depth. Would also depend on Barkley situation .

That rumour nearly as bad as when we bidded 15m for Kouyate on deadline difference is I’d have Lanzini at spurs

Not sure how good Lanzini actually is? Would be a squad player for us but we could give Eriksen a rest occasionally with a back up

Spurs do already have several creative players in their side which make them a brilliant attacking team and it’s unlikely Lanzini would be in the starting XI based on current form.
Lanzini has been a part of a West Ham team that have hugely underperformed so far this campaign and he has struggled to make a serious impact in game.
He has scored just one goal so far this season and the pressure is on him as the team’s talisman to deliver consistently.
The attacking midfielder has become a firm fan favourite during his time with West Ham and is a dead-ball specialist that is a serious threat in the final third.
