Tottenham interested in teenager Gibbs-White

|

Tottenham are interested in Wolves’ young midfield sensation Morgan Gibbs-White, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool are keen on the 17-year-old that is being tipped to make the step up to the Premier League.

It is understood that Liverpool are particularly keen on the England Under-17 World Cup winner and is lining up a £5million deal to sign him from Championship outfit Wolves.

The report details that Gibbs-White’s contract at Molineux expires at the end of next season and that he could be tempted by a move.

Good move for Spurs?

Spurs have become prolific in recent years at aiding the development of young players and looking to pick up Wolves’ starlet is a smart move.

Gibbs-White is a central midfielder by trade, but also has an eye for goal and can play in a more advanced position.

He played a crucial role in helping England win the Under-17 World Cup in October and even scored in the final as they won 5-2 over Spain.

The midfielder has featured eight times for Wolves’ senior team in his career, but is yet to get the chance this season.

Mauricio Pochettino is the perfect manager to help improve rising English stars and highly-rated Gibss-White could be the next off the production line.

Likely to happen?

Gibbs-White is being tipped for the top flight and there is a good chance he could end up there next season if he stays with Wolves, who will surely be keen to keep their rising talent.

However, the Premier League’s big hitters are queuing up and Liverpool must be considered the firm favourites as they prepare a £5million package.

Spurs may be a strong rival to them if they up their interest and £5million was the same fee they paid for Dele Alli from MK Dons, proving that these gambles can work.
