Leeds United are eyeing a move for Hearts sensation Harry Cochrane, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the Whites are lining up a move for the 16-year-old midfielder, who has made a stunning first-team breakthrough in Scottish football this season.

It is understood that Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta has given the green light on the deal and is keen to bring the teenager to Elland Road.

The report details that the Yorkshire giants would have to pay roughly £500,000 for his signature plus extras.

Good move for Leeds?

Leeds are always keen to promote young players at the club and eyeing 16-year-old Cochrane should go down well with most fans.

The youngster has broke into the Hearts senior team this campaign and already made five top-flight appearances.

The central midfielder is being tipped for a bright future in the game and it makes sense for Thomas Christiansen’s side to try pick up the gem before he develops further.

He already has an assist to his name for Hearts and it would be exciting to watch him thrive in English football.

Likely to happy?

Leeds have a good chance of prizing Cochrane away from Scotland and giving him a chance to develop further in the English game.

Cochrane is a highly-rated youngster that is bound to move on from Hearts in the near future and £500,000 could be too hard to resist for teenager.

The likes of Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira have made breakthroughs into Leeds’ senior team recently and that should encourage Hearts’ academy graduate Cochrane to do the same.
