Serge Aurier completed 90 minutes during the narrow win over Crystal Palace – and Tottenham fans on Twitter destroyed him for his performance.

The 24-year-old played the full game as Spurs managed to win 1-0 at home against Palace in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Heung-Min Son’s second-half goal from the edge of the box was enough to give the hosts three points, but they were made to work extremely hard by bottom of the league.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were without key men Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli to injury, but goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga impressed on his Spurs debut.

The North London club go into the international break third in the Premier League table and also recently booked their place in the Champions League knockout rounds.

Spurs fans on social media singled out defender Aurier for his display against Palace and feel that he really struggled.

The Ivory Coast international was guilty of being wasteful in possession at Wembley and is still yet to cement his spot in the starting XI.

Spurs’ battle for the permanent right-back position took once again another twist as Aurier failed to convince fans at the weekend.

His main rival is team-mate Kieren Trippier, who excelled during the club’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid in mid-week.

The two adeventouours full-backs are competing for the spot and the manager has opted to work on a rotation policy for now.

Aurier is still adjusting to life in English football following his summer arrival from Paris Saint-Germain and the rash defender still has plenty of work to do.
