Ian Wright has predicted Newcastle United to draw when they face Watford on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies host Watford at St James’ Park for a Premier League clash and will be looking to bounce back from their poor run of form.

Rafael Benitez’s side have lost their last three consecutive matches in the league, including a 4-1 away defeat against Manchester United in their last outing.

The North East giants are currently 12th in the table and just four points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Marco Silva’s Watford are eight-placed in the league standings and beat West Ham 2-0 in their last match.

Wright has tipped a draw between the two sides at the weekend, something that would at least stop Newcastle’s current rot as they slide down the table.

“After Newcastle’s bold attempt away at Manchester United last weekend, I’m gonna go for a draw in this one against the Hornets,” Wright told the Sun.

OPINION

Newcastle are coming up against a very slick Watford side that have some talented players and look like a team that could be challenging in the top half of the table this campaign. Benitez needs to grind out a result on Saturday to lift spirits at St James’ Park and their home support is going to be crucial. Newcastle’s biggest concern should be the amount of goals they are scoring after netting just 11 times in their opening 12 matches. They need to see their strikers start scoring on a regular basis and it could be time to chuck Aleksandar Mitrovic back into the fold, with Joselu failing to deliver the goods in front of goal.
