Rangers caretaker manager Graeme Murty has claimed the team’s attacking players are the envy of “many managers in Scotland”.

Murty praised his side’s front men after the side banged in six goals in their two games since Pedro Caixinha was sacked.

The Gers beat both Hearts and Partick Thistle after getting on the scoresheet three times as the interim boss steadied the ship following the dismissal of the Portugese.

Veteran striker Kenny Miller scored twice against Hearts while under-performing Josh Windass has scored in each of the the Gers last two games.

“It shows we are in a good place and it shows there are goals to come from the team,” Murty said, as quoted by Rangers’ official website.

“I don’t think there are many managers in Scotland that would turn down the array of attacking talent that we have.

“We just need to make sure that we understand how and when to utilise that attacking prowess and be a little bit more clinical.”

OPINION

Rangers certainly have some players who would walk into the starting XIs of many of their Scottish Premiership opponents, as befitting a team with the second biggest playing budget in the league. Aldredo Morelos is the biggest attacking asset but the summer signing has not scored since 15 September and there are question marks still as to whether he is a striker who can rip it up in Scotland. Of the other attack-minded players, Josh Windass is hit and miss, the redoubtable Kenny Miller is very much a veteran and Carlos Pena has failed to live up to his transfer fee and pay packet. One under-the-radar player is Daniel Candeias, who has quietly impressed on the right flank with four goals and five assists from his 17 matches to date.
