Former Rangers winger Vladimir Weiss trolled Celtic on Twitter during their Champions League embarrassment against Paris Saint-Germain – by dubbing it an “exhibition game.”

The Slovakia international regularly taunts Hoops fans on social media and did not waste a golden opportunity as Celtic were walloped 7-1 by the mega-spenders in France on Wednesday night.

Celtic opened the scoring through a Moussa Dembele curler before Paris Saint-Germain turned on the style to leave the Scottish champions reeling.

Weiss tagged a fellow-former Rangers player in his Tweet – cult figure Filip Sebo – as he mocked Celtic at half-time with PSG already 4-1 in front.

“Didn’t know PSG:Celtic is an exibition game,” he said on his personal Twitter account.

Weiss spent time on loan with the Gers during the 2010-11 season and has regularly hinted he would like to return to Ibrox.

The Slovakian international currently plays in Qatar and was linked with a return to Ibrox under former manager Pedro Caixinha but nothing came of it.

OPINION

Weiss has become even more popular with Rangers fans since he left the club than during his impressive loan spell. He has made no secret of his desire to return to Ibrox, or of his affiliation with the blue half of Glasgow. The 64-times international might not have lived up to the potential demonstrated when he was making his way in British football during a nomadic career that has taken in spells in England, Scotland, Italy, Spain, Qatar and Greece, but he is revered for winning a Scottish title and Scottish League Cup during his time at Ibrox. And, for winding up the Hoops good and proper.
