Tottenham player ratings v Leicester

Goalkeeper and defenders

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – 5 A night to forget for the number one. Could do little to prevent Mahrez’s stunning goal, but was badly caught out by Vardy’s deft lob for the opener that gave Leicester hope of an upset.

Serge Aurier (Right-back) – 4 A real off day for the Ivory Coast international. Suspect at both ends of the pitch and did nothing to merit his selection over the far more consistent Kieran Trippier.

Davinson Sanchez (Centre-back) – 5 Struggled to handle the pace and mobility of Vardy and company. The Colombian has settled in brilliantly since his summer arrival, but looks less effective without Toby Alderweireld around.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – 5 Like his defensive partners, the normally unflappable Belgian was shellshocked by the intensity of the Foxes in the first half, and was caught flat footed for Leicester’s opener.

Danny Rose (Left-back)- 6 While his defensive contribution left much to be desired, he was one of the brightest attacking outlets for the visitors. Do not be surprised if he sees more time out on the wing in the future.
