Michael Owen has predicted Tottenham to win comfortably when they host Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Spurs welcome their London rivals to Wembley for a Premier League clash and are the overwhelming avourites to win.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are third in the league table and will be buoyed after beating Real Madrid 3-1 on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Palace are bottom of the division and are the favourites for relegation this season.

However, they did pick up a point at home to West Ham in their last game and did also beat Chelsea in October.

Owen has tipped Spurs to win against Palace without conceding and keep in the hunt for the Premier League title, but will need to cut the eight-point gap to leaders Manchester City.

“If Palace fail to score they will become only the second side in the history of the PL (Derby County first in 2007/8) to fail to score in their first six away games of the campaign,” Owen wrote in his column for Bet Victor.

“The return of Wilfried Zaha has given the Eagles hope in their quest for Premier League survival, but they may have to wait at least another couple of weeks for a point or even a goal on the road given Spurs are a top-class side.”

OPINION

Spurs put a lot into their mid-week win over Real Madrid in the Champions League and some fans may be concerned they could suffer a shock defeat to Palace. However, Pochettino had an extremely strong looking bench on Wednesday night and could make rotations if needed. The North London club have put all notions of a Wembley curse behind them and have the ability to crush Palace if they hit anywhere near their best. Toby Alderweireld’s injury and likely omission in the coming weeks could hurt Spurs, but they are unlikely to be tested against a Palace side that have scored just four times this season.
