Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after academy product Anthony Georgiou signed a new contract with the club.
Spurs announced on their official website on Thursday evening that the left-sided midfielder has agreed terms that run until 2020.

Georgiou is a regular for Tottenham’s Under-23s and went on the pre-season tour to the United States, but he is yet to properly break into the first team.
His involvement has been limited to a six-minute run-out as a substitute in the 3-0 Champions League win against Apoel Nicosia in late September.
It appears that Spurs are keen to protect the value of the pacy youngster and avoid a repeat of the situation in the summer when another academy product and young midfielder, Filip Lesniak, ran down his contract and left for a nominal compensation sum.
Tottenham fans are excited at the potential of Georgiou and a considerable section took to social media to give the deal the thumbs up, although one joked that left-back Danny Rose may have to Google him, in reference to the international’s summer request for the club to sign big names.
