Everton are reportedly interested in signing New York City winger Jack Harrison during the January transfer window.
The Daily Mail claims that the Merseyside club will face stiff competition to land the 20-year-old as fellow Premier League sides Leicester City and Brighton are also keen to secure his signature.
The newspaper reports that Harrison is currently rated at £6million.
Good news for Everton?
With the Toffees struggling to score throughout the early stages of the season, Harrison could help the squad in this department.
The Englishman has impressed with his performances in the MLS this year, contributing with a total of 10 goals and three assists in the league.
As a team, the Toffees have only managed to score a total of 10 goals in the Premier League and three of them came in Sunday’s 3-2 victory against Watford at Goodison Park.
Although Harrison appears to be a player for the future, Everton should attempt to attract players with experience in the Premier League who can help them climb up the table.
At such a young age, Harrison might not be able to handle the pressure of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the country if he is deployed straight into the first-team.
It will be massive gamble to rely on the youngster to help the Toffees get out of their current predicament but after signing Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Sandro Ramirez, Everton seem to be looking to invest in youth for the foreseeable future.

Amongst the Premier League teams mentioned in the report, Harrison is likely to prefer a move to Goodison Park over Leicester and Brighton.
The Merseyside club have demonstrated over the past couple of seasons that they are no afraid to give youth players a chance in the Premier League, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman as the perfect examples.
If the Toffees continue to struggle in front of goal, they might try and get the Harrison deal over the line as quickly as possible before bigger clubs start to take an interest in the youngster.
