Aston Villa supporters have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at summer signing Chris Samba’s display against Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend.
The 33-year-old came on as a first-half substitute to replace the injured John Terry within the opening 20 minutes of the match but he failed to provide the desired defensive impact.
Steve Bruce’s team slumped to a disappointing 2-1 loss against Sheffield Wednesday at Villa Park on Saturday with Adam Reach and Jordan Rhodes getting on the scoresheet for the visitors.
The result means that Villa fall seven points behind Sheffield United who occupy the final automatic promotion spot but they still find themselves in the playoff places.
The Villa fans expressed their fury on social media towards Samba despite his late consolation goal.

The senior man completed a move to the Championship side on a free transfer in the summer.
The central defender has only featured in seven matches in all competitions but he has only managed to keep a clean sheet on one occasion.
It is likely that Samba might enjoy more game time depending on the extend of Terry’s injury.
Villa have the chance to bounce back when they face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road after the international break.
