Brady: Bilic did not argue with West Ham sacking

|

West Ham’s Vice-Chairman Karren Brady has explained that Slaven Bilic did not argue when he was sacked by the club.

The Hammers decided to end the 49-year-old’s spell after a dreadful start to the season, with the club sitting in the relegation zone during the international break.

He has struggled since the move to the London Stadium and eventually it has cost him his job.

David Moyes has turned out to be his successor as West Ham manager and will be looking to drag them away from a potential relegation scrap this campaign.

Brady has revealed that Bilic did not argue when he was dismissed by the London club and stressed it was a very difficult decision.

“When we told Slaven Bilic we didn’t want him to stay as manager of West Ham, it was clear he was not going to argue with the decision,” Brady wrote in the Sun.

“No one likes to sack anyone. It’s not easy, especially when you genuinely like them, and I take no pleasure from it — but sometimes there is just no alternative.”

OPINION

Bilic’s departure at West Ham seemed inevitable in the end after his side’s poor form and it may take a new manager to turn their form around. The Hammers certainly have the quality in their squad to be pushing in the top half of the table and their managerial change during the season could help them. Moyes is under immediate pressure to start delivering results and help the club rise up the table in the coming weeks. West Ham play away to Watford in their next game after the international break and the next home clash is against Leicester shortly after.
