Tottenham are chasing the signature of Manchester City youngster Bobby Duncan, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims that Spurs are in the race for the 16-year-old centre-forward alongside Premier League rivals.

It is understood that Arsenal and Southampton are also keen on the teenage striker, which has left Man City fearing they could lose one of their highly rated talents.

The report details that Man City would be entitled to compensation if Duncan leaves the club, but they want him to agree a new contract before his 17th birthday.

Good move for Spurs? ??

Spurs have shown in the past that picking up young talents can work and eyeing emerging star Duncan is a smart move.

The striker has become an important player for England’s Under-17s side and is being tipped for stardom at the Etihad.

Mauricio Pochttino has become an expert at promoting youth stars into the first team and has particularly developed English players.

Duncan is clearly still at the early stages of his career, but is showing signs of his natural touch in front of goal and Spurs are still searching for real competition to Harry Kane.

Likely to happen?

Spurs face a difficult battle to try bring Duncan to North London, but the pulling power of Pocehttino could be a big factor.

However, Man City are desperate to tie the forward down to a long-term contract and ensure that he is not the latest young star to leave the club.

He is growing his reputation with performances for the national side and will hope to find a path into Pep Guardiola’s team.
