Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen have rightfully taken many plaudits for their performances so far this season, but there is a Tottenham star that has gone under the radar.

Davinson Sanchez has made such an immediate impact in the Spurs team that it’s easy to forget this is just his first taste of the Premier League.

The Colombian is also aged just 21 and has slotted in seamlessly to Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line up.

Sanchez made the switch to North London in the summer from Ajax and had a lot of pressure on his shoulders due to his £42million price tag.

However, the ball-playing centre-back has thrived so far at his new side and should currently be perceived as massively underrated.

He is very capable in possession, while his power and pace have helped him adapt to the physicality of the Premier League instantly.

Sanchez was being tipped to become one of Europe’s top defenders and is well on the way to fulfilling that if he continues in the same vein.

Meanwhile, Argentinian manager Pochettino must take immense credit for his role in the youngster’s success and has made a genius tactical switch that has benefited the whole team.

Pochettino has moved Sanchez into the centre of a back three and this has allowed Toby Alderweireld to thrive as the right-sided defender.

Alderweireld is beginning to impact matches more as he showcases his brilliant passing ability, while Jan Vertonghen plays a similar role on the left flank.

Eric Dier was constantly used as a make-shift defender last season, but the arrival of Sanchez has allowed the Englishman to switch back to his preferred role in midfield.

The signing of Sanchez was a brilliant move by Pochettino and it has allowed him to move a few players around to give his side an ever better balance.
