Alan Shearer has included Tottenham ace Harry Kane in his top three standout players so far in the Premier League this season.

He decided to select three strikers as the Spurs ace was joined alongside Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata.

Kane has been in great touch in front of goal with six goals in his seven league games so far this campaign as he looks to defender his golden boot crown.

The 24-year-old has also hit the ground running in the Champions League with five goals in the opening two group games, but will now test himself against heavyweights Real Madrid in the next two European clashes.

He has been in brilliant goalscoring form and scored twice during the international break for England in successive 1-0 victories as they booked their spot in the 2018 World Cup.

Shearer has named Kane as one of his standout performers so far this season and has tipped him to pip Lukaku to the league’s golden boot prize.

“I know he didn’t score in August again but his record in September was pretty brutal,” Shearer said, as quoted by Coral’s official Twitter account. “He got back to scoring goals, looked hungry and sort of carried on his form from last season which has to be good news also for England.

“I think it will be a shootout between Kane and Lukaku [for the golden boot]. I’ll go for Harry Kane I think he will get another one like he did last year.”

OPINION

Kane has begun the season in terrific form for Spurs and is surely a big contender for the PFA Player of the Year if he continues in this vein. The centre-forward has become a very consistent goalscorer in the Premier League over the past few seasons and if anything is improving this campaign. He looks like scoring in every game for the North London club and is the most important player in Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Kane’s all-round game has no immediate weakness and he is the perfect modern-day striker that is currently lighting up the Premier League.
