Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas could be absent from the Champions League game against Tottenham, according to AS.

The Spanish outlet claim that the 30-year-old could miss the next two games for the La Liga side after picking up a thigh injury during the international break.

He sustained the knock in a World Cup qualifier against Honduras as his Costa Rica side reached the major tournament.

Navas was absent from the recent defeat to Panama due to his injury and released from the national team squad.

The shot stopper is reportedly expected to be unavailable for the league clash with Getafe on Saturday and may also miss the Champions League tie at home to Premier League side Spurs on Tuesday.

He would be a colossal blow for the Spanish outlet as he is a key first teamer for them and the first-choice goalkeeper under manager Zinedine Zidane.

Kiko Casilla is the back-up option in goal for Madrid and they are likely to turn to the Spaniard.

OPINION

Navas will certainly be a big loss for Madrid in the next week and his potential absence from the European clash will give Spurs great confidence. In-form striker Harry Kane will feel confident of scoring past any goalkeeper in world football right now and will be a daunting prospect for understudy Casilla to face. Navas is an important player in the Madrid side with his ability in possession and great shot stopping, but he is set to join Gareth Bale, Dani Carvajal and Mateo Kovacic on the sidelines for Madrid. Spurs are against the odds to pick up a win at the Bernabeu against a very strong Madrid side, but the amount of injuries could sway it in their favour if they turn up on the night.
