Danny Rose has been omitted from the official Tottenham calendar for next year, it emerged today (Thursday).

The Lilywhite Rose Twitter account posted images of the official 2018 calendar and first choice left-back was not included on either the front cover or on any of the individual month pages.

The front cover showed skipper Hugo Lloris and four key first teamers in Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele.

Each of the quintet also had their own monthly page, as did other key players Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier, Kieran Tripper, Victor Wanyama, Son Heung-Min as well as newly-capped England international Harry Winks.

But there is no place for Rose, who upset the Spurs hierarchy when he criticised the club in a summer interview and insisted he would be open to offers from other teams because he wants bigger wages.

Reports have emerged this week that Manchester United are confident of signing Rose for £45million next summer and that he has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

OPINION

Is this a major transfer hint from Tottenham, or a signal that he is not as likely to sell a calendar to fans as other more popular players like Kane and company? Perhaps both. Of course, Rose is not the only senior Spurs player omitted. There is also no place for the likes of his fellow left-back Ben Davies, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko, as well as summer signings Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier, Fernando Llorente and Juan Foyth. But Rose is the most high-profile omission and this will be interpreted as a message that he has neither been forgiven by the White Hart Lane hierarchy and he might well not be at the club by the time 2018 has ended.
