Jamie Redknapp has raved about Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen and believes he has been transformed from a a creator to a goalscorer.

The 25-year-old has started the season in brilliant form and already has three goals in his first 10 appearances across all competitions.

He has also chipped in with four assists and continued to be a creative spark for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Spurs centre-forward Harry Kane often gets the limelight for his brilliant goalscoring exploits, but attacking midfielder Eriksen is increasingly becoming a talisman for them.

Redknapp has highlighted how Eriksen has been transformed into more of a goalscorer this season and feels he has made a small change to his game.

“Christian Eriksen has started the season in sparkling form and is turning into a danger man for Tottenham,” Redknapp wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“We all know about his ability to score 25-yarders and free-kicks. Now, Eriksen is getting into the box an awful lot more.

“All three of Eriken’s goals this season have come from inside the box, including his winner against Bournemouth that secured Spurs their vital first victory in the league at Wembley. Eriksen has gone from Tottenham’s creator to their destroyer.”

OPINION

Eriksen is now getting the recognition that he deserves and at the age of 25 only has room to improve. The Denmark international is putting in some top performances for his club and is arguably the key man for Spurs. Mauricio Pochettino has helped him become a big threat in front of goal and has a knack of bringing the best out of players. Eriksen’s task is now to help drive Spurs towards silverware and delivering big performances in Europe will help too.
