Tottenham ace Dele Alli has admitted that he would love to improve his pace if he could change one thing about himself.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has developed into one of the star names in the Premier League during the past couple of years and is a key man for Spurs.

However, the England international has confessed he would love to have blistering speed.

Alli was asked which one area of his game he would improve if he could and he claimed his “pace”, as cited by the Soccer AM Youtube account.

The playmaker is managing okay without lightning speed and has a knack of popping up in the right areas with his clever movement.

He managed 22 goals and 13 assists in 50 games last season across all competitions, which have made him one of Europe’s best young players.

Alli has enjoyed a meteoric rise since he left MK Dons to join Spurs and is still developing many areas of his game.

He has made a mixed start to the new campaign with three goals in the opening eight games and fans are now demanding the highest standards from him.

OPINION

Alli still has his doubters at Spurs despite his incredble form for them in the past couple of years and his yellow card for simulation at the weekend against Huddersfield is an area of his game he needs to amend. He is known for being a fierce competitor that plays on the edge and that is part of what makes him such a special player. However, he needs to stop being involved in controversial incidents if he can and just focus solely on his football. The technical ability is all there for him to become a superstar and you don’t need blistering pace to succeed when you have such clever movement.
