Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after Marouane Fellaini was ruled out of their Premier League showdown against Manchester United next weekend.
The midfielder, 29, sustained a knee injury playing for Belgium in their World Cup qualifying win over Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday.
Belgium revealed on their official Twitter account on Sunday that Fellaini has had a scan and will be “out for a couple of weeks” with a sprain to his left knee.

This means he will miss United’ s trip to Anfield next Saturday as well as their subsequent matches against Benfica in the Champions League and Huddersfield in the Premier League.
Fellaini has scored four goals for United this season, including two in a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace in their last game before the international break.
Significantly, he also has a fine record at Anfield in United colours and he would have been expected to start the match next weekend in the absence of the injured Paul Pogba.
Liverpool supporters are mostly pleased their vulnerable defence will not have to contain the giant midfielder and claimed he will be missed by their rivals, although some mocked United for their growing reliance on such a one-dimensional player.
