Liverpool strongest XI against Manchester United

|

Attack

Mohamed Salah (Right-wing) – The Egyptian does not quite have the 0-60 speed of Mane, but is quick enough and good enough to do major damage to the United defence. Represents the only option of serious pace in attack, as Dominic Solanke is way too raw to start such a big game.

Daniel Sturridge (Centre-forward) – Fluffed a great chance against Newcastle and would probably have been axed if Mane was fit. But Sturridge is Liverpool’s best finisher and two weeks of inaction mean he should be revved up for the weekend. If the home side can create chances around the box, he can finish them off.

Roberto Firmino (Left-wing) – Dropped against Newcastle, the usual spearhead must be recalled to the starting XI albeit in a different role due to Mane’s absence. Should be moved out to a flank role against United, where he can still be a real menace with his touch and link-up play.
