It will be back to the drawing board for Jurgen Klopp as he comes up with a plan for overcoming Manchester United after learning the shattering news that Sadio Mane will miss the weekend clash of the giants.

Liverpool announced on their official website on Tuesday afternoon that the brilliant attacker is facing six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained on international duty.

Mane was substituted 89 minutes into Senegal’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over the Cape Verde Islands on Saturday and picked up an injury that could keep him out of action until the end of November.

Klopp would have earmarked the in-form attacker for a starting role in his side for the Saturday lunchtime showdown at Anfield and must now come up with a plan B in which Liverpool will make do without their quickest player, who has been integral to their lethal counter-attacks.

This Is Futbol has selected the expected XI that Liverpool will name against United, which includes an attacker that is certain to be recalled to the side to give them a big lift.
