Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter calling for Geroges-Kevin NKoudou to start their Champions League fixture against APOEL on Tuesday night after Christian Eriksen was ruled out.

The Danish playmaker has begun the season in excellent form with two goals and four assists from seven appearances but has been ruled out of the trip to Cyprus due to illness.

Pochettino told the club’s official Twitter account: “Christian Eriksen had a very bad night and he is sick. He will not be ready for tomorrow and he stays in London.”

Spurs have been left with a depleted squad for the second game of the group stages, with Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen both missing through suspension in addition to injured quartet Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Erik Lamela.

NKoudou is the forgotten man at White Hart Lane after struggling to make an impact since his £11million transfer from Marseille in the summer of 2016.

The winger has made just a single substitute appearance for the Londoners this season – in the League Cup win against Millwall last week – after playing in just 18 matches in 2016-17, most of which were from the bench.

Tottenham fans are keen to see the speed machine step up from the sidelines and be given a sustained run-out in a key match.
