Rangers fans have taken to Twitter calling for Josh Windass to be axed for Saturday’s Old Firm clash against Celtic.
The midfielder, 23, has been a mainstay of the team this season, with Pedro Caixinha using him predominantly in a new left-flank role.
Supporters were initially impressed by Windass’ form at the start of the campaign, particularly with his opening-day performance against Motherwell.
But many believe that the former Accrington player has now reverted back to the mediocre form of his debut campaign and would rather see a more clinical performer starting against Brendan Rodger’s league leaders.
Kenny Miller, Dalcio and Aaron Nemane would all come into the reckoning to replace Windass if Caixinha does indeed wield the axe.
Rangers fans took to social media en masse to give their thoughts on the make-up of the starting XI and why Windass is not the player to help end Celtic’s 56-match unbeaten domestic run.

Bullied and we wouldn't be able to play Windass as he's not good enough defensively to get back to support John who'll need a lot of help…

Windass centrally gives me the fear. We saw how clueless he is with runners in the middle last season. Anyone but him in the middle

Like it Baz, that's how I'd set up. The only concern I would have is the empty jersey that is Windass. But we're due a performance fae him.
