2. Brave but no dice for Christiansen  

Cardiff were third in the Championship before tonight’s game with Leeds and fans would have been accepting a super-strong line-up.

However, Christiansen obviously has faith in his squad and it’s this sort of attitude that will create a real team spirit at Elland Road this season.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Samu Saiz have been brilliant this season, but the German striker admitted his girlfriend had given birth this week and he’s been flying to Germany and back.

Samu Saiz has played a lot of games and was obviously in need of a rest.

Keeping his fringe stars happy by showing he trusts them in the big games, and resting his first-team stars when he feels they need it, shows strength and a big-stage attitude.

However, it didn’t pay off tonight and that’s two defeats from three games in the Championship for Leeds.
