Georges-Kevin NKoudou made only his second Tottenham appearance of the season in their 3-0 Champions League win against Apoel Nicosia – and fans took to Twitter to slaughter the attacking midfielder.
NKoudou has been on the fringes of the Spurs side his summer 2016 arrival from Marseille for a fee of around £11million.
Most of the 22-year-old’s 19 appearances for Tottenham have come as a substitute and it was the same case on Tuesday night as he was called upon at the 75-minute mark as a replacement for hero Harry Kane.
The Spurs talisman scored his first hat-trick in the Champions League as he continued his astonishing goal run on the road, which now amounts to 14 in the team’s last six away matches.
Kane’s three goals were Spurs’ first three shots on target in the match, as they rode their luck at times to secure their second consecutive win of the group stages.
NKoudou only made a cameo appearance but fans of the north Londoners did not hold back in their criticism of him.
This Is Futbol has rounded up some of their best tweets:
Sissoko and Winks had good games. Trippier is actually worse at Left back than Right back. Nkoudou is the most pointless player we’ve got

Nkoudou looks like the sort of player who nods his head to manager’s instructions but totally disregards them once on the field

I don’t think Kevin Nkoudou is very good at football.

Nkoudou still looks very average.

NKoudou must be something else in training

Nkoudou is completely irrelevant, not even worth a place on the bench. Glorified Andros Townsend

Winks is soooo good, absolute class player. Nkoudou needs to improve on his end product. He doesn’t use his pace well
