Tottenham should consider making a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak in the final days of the transfer window.

Most Spurs fans are demanding they bring in a new central striker and that is a pressing issue for their squad, but they may also need an extra midfielder if they are to compete across all competitions.

The north London club do have Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele as senior options in the centre of the park, while versatile ace Eric Dier and youngster Harry Winks are also viable options.

However, they need another recognised player to get them through the course of the season and should plot a raid for PSG’s fringe player.

The Mail report on their transfer blog (12:48pm, Tuesday) that Leicester are eyeing a move for Krychowiak as they prepare to lose Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 giants, but that should not deter Spurs and they should battle with Leicester for his signature.

Krychowiak is a very talented player that would fill a gap in the Spurs squad and a fresh move should see him earn more regular football than his 19 appearances last season for PSG.

The Poland international is recognised for being a midfield enforcer and would be able to slot into Mauricio Pochettino’s system with ease.

He usually plays as a defensive midfielder that likes to get stuck into tackles and has a physical advantage that can see him dominate individual battles.

Krychowiak proved his qualities during his time with Sevilla in La Liga and that earned him his move to PSG, where he has just struggled with the competitiveness of the squad.

However, he has the perfect traits to succeed in the Premier League and Spurs should try to improve their squad by moving for him.
