Everton reject Brighton loan bids for Niasse

|

Everton have rejected multiple loan bids from Premier League new boys Brighton for Oumar Niasse, according to the Guardian.

The newspaper claimed in their live transfer blog on Tuesday [10:56am] that Everton are only willing to sell attacker Niasse, 27, in a permanent deal worth £10million, despite Brighton coming forward with two loan-to-buy bids, with the latest one offering £750,000 up front.

It is understood that Brighton’s fierce rivals Crystal Palace are also interested in the eight-times Senegal international, but the Eagles are yet to make an official approach to the Merseysiders, who have taken the decision to place Niasse in exile with the club’s Under-23 side.

Good move for Everton?

There’s no way that Everton are going to get £10million for the striker that has scored zero goals in a year and a half on Merseyside after his £13.5million move from Lokomotiv Moscow. Brighton could do with an extra striker in their squad and they would really be doing Everton a favour if they sign him up for the season to potentially get them off their payroll. Come Thursday, Ronald Koeman will probably change the valuation of Niasse and let him leave for peanuts.

Likely to happen?

Brighton seem eager to sign the Senegal international having already made two loan bids, plus the fact that their bitter rivals Palace have entered the race for his signature might mean they’ll grow more desperate in their effort to sign him. Niasse is very likely to not be an Everton player by Friday and it’s also a major probability that we will not leave on the terms that Koeman would like.
