Liverpool have been installed as the overwhelming favourites to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet priced the Merseyside giants at 6/4 on Thursday afternoon to sign Draxler, 23, before the September transfer deadline.
Fellow Premier League giants Arsenal trail behind the Merseysiders at odds of 9/1, while Manchester United are priced in third at 16/1.
The odds have been slashed on Liverpool landing the 35-times Germany international after they were priced at 4/1 to pull off what would be a sensational deal earlier this week.
It follows on from PSG bringing in Neymar in a world record deal from Barcelona, which has reportedly thrown into doubt the futures of his new attacking colleagues.
Draxler, who made the switch to PSG from Wolfsburg as recently as January and plays in the same position as the Brazilian, would seemingly fit into that criteria.
Since his move to France Draxler has bagged an impressive 10 goals in 25 appearances after netting 30 times in 170 appearances at former club Schalke.

It is certainly no coincidence that the odds have tumbled on Liverpool signing the super-quick German attacker at a time when Neymar’s arrival has threatened to end his PSG career before it has even begun and Barcelona are fluttering their eyelashes on a minute-by-minute basis at Philippe Coutinho. All three are used on the left flank as a roving playmaker capable of carrying the ball forward and destroying opponents. Draxler has reignited his career at PSG after finally exiting Schalke but he has not been involved in their opening two league matches of the campaign and now could be available for sale. Liverpool fans desperately don’t want Coutinho to go, but Draxler’s arrival could go some way to sweetening the bitter pill of his exit.
