Leeds are reportedly not interested in signing Norwich forward Nelson Oliveira and will look elsewhere for attacking options.

Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Lee Sobot has revealed on his personal Twitter account that the Whites were considering a move for the 26-year-old this summer.

It is understood that the Yorkshire giants have decided against pursuing the Portugal international and will find an alternative as they look to replace Burnley’s £15million striker Chris Wood.

Oliveira has begun the new Championship season in blistering form and has three goals in the opening five games, which is very impressive considering he has started just twice.

Good move for Leeds?

Leeds are perhaps making the wrong decision by not pursuing Oliveira this summer as he is someone that could have thrived at Elland Road.

They are now set to go sign a different striker to lead the line, but the Norwich ace would have done a good job and perhaps an official approach should have been made.

He already knows the Championship well and has scored 23 goals in 61 times in the division, despite starting only 42 of those games.

The forward could have also spearheaded the attack well with his pace and technical ability, but they could take a risk on someone from outside of the Championship.

Likely to happen?

Leeds’ interest in Norwich goalscorer Oliveira now appears to be over and the reliable journalist insists that the club will look elsewhere.

The Whites are set to bring in another forward to replace Wood in their squad, despite already landing youngster Jay-Roy Grot on an initial £750,000 fee.

Oliveira still has three years left on his contract at Carrow Road and he was always likely to remain at Norwich because of that, something that has now been confirmed.
