OPINION
There’s nothing like a bit of last-minute drama in the transfer window, and Crystal Palace look intent on hijacking Rennes advanced move for West Ham’s Diafra Sakho. It leaves Sakho with a choice of two clubs struggling in their respective leagues – both are bottom but one. Sakho has reportedly passed a medical at Rennes and is in France now. If we were his advisors we’d be telling him to stay put. Crystal Palace have had a shocking start to the season and manager Frank de Boer seems to be on borrowed time already. Plus, with Christian Benteke they already have a solid no.1 striker option. Sakho didn’t do terribly at West Ham but didn’t get much of a shot to prove himself – 21 goals in 58 games is a decent return. We’d advise a clean break from the Premier League and a shot at Ligue 1 with Rennes, although the extra million from the PL side could complicate things.
