Leeds United have reportedly enquired with Aston Villa about signing forward Ross McCormack – and supporters on Twitter were blown away at the possibility of his return.
The Mail claim that the Yorkshire giants have made contact about the possibility of signing the out-of-favour Scot after he slipped down the pecking order at Villa Park.
It is said that Sunderland’s bid to sign the 30-year-old has stalled and Leeds have joined the race for their former hero.
The Elland Road faithful reacted with almost universal delight at the club’s latest transfer link as they anticipated the damage that a front line of McCormack and Chris Wood could do in the Championship.

McCormack’s future at Villa is in doubt after his £12.5million move from Fulham last summer turned sour.
He scored just three goals in 22 appearances last season before a fall-out with Steve Bruce preceded a wretched loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
McCormack quit Leeds in the summer of 2014 to move to Craven Cottage for £11million after a goal-laden four year spell in he scored 58 goals and supplying 31 assists from 157 matches in all competitions.
