Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green is undergoing a Huddersfield medical as the Championship club’s senior player exodus continues.

Terriers manager David Wagner revealed that his team have agreed personal terms with the former England goalkeeper amid reports they are set to sign him on a one-year deal.

Speaking after Huddersfield’s draw against Southampton on Saturday, Wagner said, as quoted by the Sky Sports transfer centre blog (6.38pm): “We would like to sign Rob Green. We have agreed personal terms and we have also spoken to Leeds.

“If he passes a medical, which he will hopefully do today, hopefully we can announce this signing in the next 24 hours.”

The 37-year-old was omitted from the Leeds squad for their Saturday evening clash against Nottingham Forest, making way in the matchday 18 for youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

He has not started any of Leeds’ five league fixtures this season after being an ever-present in the Championship under ex-boss Garry Monk in 2016-17.

The experienced Green, who represented England at the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa, has played more than 600 league games during his career for Norwich, West Ham and Queens Park Rangers.

He is set to become the third senior Leeds player to leave this week, following striker Chris Wood and midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

Wood joined Premier League club Burnley for an initial £15million and Bridcutt signed for Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.
