Wolves manager contacts Willy Boly over potential move

|

New Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has contacted Porto defender Willy Boly over a potential move to Molineux next season, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese newspaper claims that the Wolves boss made a personal phone call to the 26-year-old and expressed his desire to sign him during the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Santo is looking to improve his defensive options ahead of the upcoming Championship season and he believes that the defender is the perfect candidate for the team.

It is said that Boly is surplus to requirements at the Portuguese club and Porto gave Santo the green light to initiate early talks over a potential deal.

A Bola reports that the defender is not keen on a move to the Championship side as he believes that it will be step a down in his footballing career.

Santo knows all about the defender’s capabilities on the football pitch as he was the one who brought him to Porto last season when he was the manager.

Boly did not appear to impress his boss last season as he spent the majority of the campaign watching on from the substitutes bench.

The defender only managed to make a total of 12 appearances in all competitions.

Boly’s current contract with Porto expires in 2021.
