West Ham are ready to offer goal machine Javier Hernandez over £100,000-a-week in order to secure his signing from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Claret and Hugh.

The independent Hammers news website has detailed that the east London club’s board will “push the boat out” in order to meet the 29-year-old’s wage demands.

If the 96-time capped Mexico international does agree to any wage of over £100,000-a-week then he will become the club’s highest paid player with the Daily Star reporting in March that last summer record signing Andre Ayew was the current top earner with £80,000-a-week.

However, despite these big figures it is also detailed that the board have learned that the former Manchester United man is not in a hurry to decide his future.

Hernandez is going into the final year of his contract at Leverkusen, but it is reported that he knows he is in a good position to get what he wants this summer due to the lack of available top class forwards.

The last time the Mexican was playing in the Premier League he managed a return of 37 goals in 103 English top-flight matches alongside helping the Red Devils to two league titles.

He has also played for Real Madrid, while last season the striker managed an impressive return of 13 goals in 36 matches in all competitions for Leverkusen.

West Ham themselves have been linked with a number of forwards for the second summer in the row with Slaven Bilic keen to add more firepower to his side after usual winger Michail Antonio finished as the club’s top scorer last season.
