Samuel Saiz has been spotted at Malaga airport as he prepares to fly to England and sign for Leeds United.

Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay cited a photo on his personal Twitter account on Monday that showed the Spanish playmaker preparing to leave his homeland and head to the UK.

There are flights from Malaga direct to Leeds today (Monday) and it appears that the 26-year-old playmaker will now put the finishing touches to a transfer to the Championship club from Spanish second-tier outfit Huesca.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Friday that Saiz has been given the all-clear to move to Elland Road after protracted negotiations over what has been a complicated deal.

Leeds have been hot on the trail of the versatile forward since the end of the Spanish season in mid-June after Saiz was instrumental in Huesca qualifying for the play-offs with 12 goals and eight assists from 40 league encounters.

But they missed out on promotion and the Real Madrid academy product signalled his desire to leave just a year after joining from Atletico Madrid.

It will be a notable capture for Leeds, even though Saiz did not play for the Atletico or Real first teams during his spells at the Spanish giants.

He has been chased by a number of top-tier clubs this summer and Eibar were close to sealing the deal last month but Leeds hijacked that potential transfer to convice the player to change his mind.

The deal has been complicate by the issue of Saiz’s economic rights, which are owned by Atletico but the Yorkshire Evening Post report that all hurdles have now been cleared.

Leeds have already made six signings this summer in versatile midfielder Vurnon Anita, goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, central midfield duo Mateusz Klich and Madger Gomes, and 2016-17 loanees Pontus Jansson Hadi Sacko, who have signed permanent deals.
