Huesca playmaker Samuel Saiz will jet into England on Monday and sign for Leeds United, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The regional newspaper claims that the versatile Spanish forward will pack his bags to return from a vacation in Miami on Sunday and then travel to Leeds to complete a £3million transfer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Saiz has been given the all-clear to move to Elland Road after protracted negotiations over what has been a complicated deal.

Leeds have been hot on the trail of the versatile forward since the end of the Spanish season in mid-June after Saiz played a key role in his second-tier club qualifying for the play-offs.

The 26-year-old scored 12 goals and supplied eights assists from 40 league matches as Huesca pushed strongly for a place in La Liga.

That did not transpire and the Real Madrid academy product is now set to move to England for the first time in a career that has also included a spell at Atletico Madrid.

It will be a notable capture for Leeds, given that top-tier Spanish clubs Eibar have also tried to sign him this summer.

The potential transfer has been complicate by the issue of Saiz’s economic rights, which are owned by Atletico but the Yorkshire Evening Post report that all hurdles have now been cleared.

Leeds have already made six signings this summer in versatile midfielder Vurnon Anita, goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, central midfield duo Mateusz Klich and Madger Gomes, and 2016-17 loanees Pontus Jansson Hadi Sacko, who have signed permanent deals.
