Rangers are closing in on their ninth signing of the summer window after having a seven-figure bid accepted by Norwich on Sunday evening, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet details that the Gers have finally reached a breakthrough after “protracted negotiations” with the English Championship club for the 30-year-old midfielder and that the two sides have agreed a deal worth £1.5million.

It is also said that Dorrans himself has set his sights on a move back to Glasgow despite interest from English second tier duo Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland.

The Mail report also claims that the 11-time Scotland international is now expected to gain permission to enter into negotiations with Pedro Caixinha’s side.

Dorrans has been heavily linked with a move to Rangers this summer and the Mail reported on Saturday that Rangers were nearing an agreement with Norwich following a report from  The Pink Un which had suggested the Ibrox giants had a bid worth less than £500,000 rejected.

It has so far been a busy first window for Caixinha with the Gers already bringing in Eduardo Herrera, Fabio Cardoso, Alfredo Morelos, Daniel Candeias, Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio and Carlos Pena this summer and Dorrans, who bagged six goals in 23 Championship matches for Norwich last season could be the next addition.
