Vurnon Anita was announced on Thursday evening as Leeds United’s latest summer signings – and Newcastle United fans described him as a top signing for the Championship club.
Leeds announced on their official website that the Holland international has signed a three-year contract after joining following the expiry of his Newcastle contract.
The 28-year-old, who can play at right-back or in central midfield, is Leeds’ sixth permanent signing of the summer following Felix Wiedwald, Mateusz Klich, Hadi Sacko, Pontus Jansson and Madger Gomes.
Anita has arrived at Elland Road after five years at Newcastle, where he made 155 appearances and was a key member of the side that won the Championship title last season.
Newcastle supporters are convinced that the popular Dutchman will make a big impact at Elland Road.

He arrives at Elland Road on the same day that left-back Charlie Taylor quit for Burnley for a fee that will be settled by a tribunal.
