Premier giants Manchester United want to offer Celtic a record £15million for left-back star Kieran Tierney, according to the Mirror.

The news outlet have detailed that Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho has been tracking the developments of the 20-year-old closely and he now wants to make the mega-money move.

The reported fee would be the highest Celtic have ever received with Victor Wanyama’s £12.5million switch to Southampton in the summer of 2013 the current record for the Scottish giants.

But, Celtic are also believed to want to keep of their young emerging star and it is claimed that the Hoops are looking for him to star for at least one more year with his current contract still set to run until 2021.

Tierney is understood to be a boyhood fan of Celtic and made his senior competitive debut aged 18 in April 2015.

He soon became a standout star in both the Glasgow giants’ team as well as the rest of Scotland and alongside making 75 senior appearances at club level he has also been capped four times for the Scottish national team.

It is clear that the left-back is set for a big future, but the Celtic support will be keen to keep hold of him for as long as possible.
