European giants Marseille have made Celtic star Moussa Dembele their number one target this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The popular broadcasters have detailed on their website that the French Ligue 1 club view the 20-year-old as a player who can replace former loanee Bafetimbi Gomis, who has recently signed for Turkish side Galatasaray.

The youngster has garnered a lot of interest from across Europe since making the switch to Glasgow last summer for a compensation fee from English Championship club Fulham.

It is said that each of Chelsea and West Ham tried to sign him in January, while AC Milan have also expressed an interest this summer.

Additionally, it is reported that manager Brendan Rodgers has “admitted that some players may leave the club” after they secure their placing in next season’s Champions League.

Dembele was a massive success in his debut campaign at Celtic, scoring a fine 32 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions.

He is also still contracted to the club until 2020, but a mega offer from home country side Marseille could tempt him away from Glasgow this summer.

But, with an outside chance of making France’s World Cup squad this summer the young star will also be looking to be at a club where he knows he can be the main frontman, like Celtic.
