Leeds United are in a three-club race to sign defender Harold Voyer, according to a Foot Mercato report.

The French media outlet claims newly promoted Premier League club Newcastle United and Championship outfit Fulham are also keen on the 20-year-old.

It is said Voyer is available on a free transfer after his contract with Ligue 1 giants PSG expired at the start of July.

The Frenchman made the step up from PSG’s Under-19s outfit into their B team last summer, but he failed to make much of an impact.

He had been an ever-present figure in the French giants’ youth set-up, but he is now on the look-out for a new club.

Voyer, a left-footed defender, has also represented France Under-19s in the past.

The 20-year-old could become Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen’s ninth signing of the summer as he has already added Pontus Jansson, Samu Saiz, Vernon Anita, Hadi Sacko, Mateusz Klich, Caleb Ekuban, Felix Wiedwald and Ezgjan Alioski to his squad since the transfer window opened.

The Whites finished seventh in last season’s Championship, and Christiansen will hope his squad overhaul will see them finish in the play-offs, or even challenge for the automatic promotion places.
